A tragic and deeply disturbing case is under investigation in Fulton County following the discovery of a woman’s body inside a burning home, an incident that has led to the arrest of her husband on serious pending charges.
According to the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, emergency crews responded on May 28 to a reported structure fire in the 500 block of Vista Oak Trail in the Glencoe area. The call came in from a concerned individual who reported that someone was believed to be inside the residence as flames engulfed the home.
Firefighters from multiple departments, along with sheriff’s deputies, arrived quickly and worked to bring the blaze under control. Once the fire was extinguished and it was safe to enter, crews conducted a search of the residence. During that search, they discovered the body of 33-year-old Breianna Albee inside the home.
Authorities say the case quickly shifted from a fire response to a criminal investigation after deputies observed suspicious injuries on Albee’s body. Fulton County Sheriff Jake Smith confirmed that the injuries—particularly those found on and around her head—were not consistent with damage typically caused by fire.
“There was no plausible explanation as to how the injuries could have been sustained accidentally,” officials stated, raising immediate concerns about the circumstances surrounding her death.
Investigators also gathered statements from witnesses who reported seeing 40-year-old Daniel Milde, Albee’s husband, at the scene earlier that day. Witnesses indicated he had been inside the home with her prior to the fire.
Based on the preliminary findings, deputies arrested Milde and transported him to the Fulton County Jail. Authorities confirmed he is currently being held on an investigative hold, with warrants pending for first-degree murder, arson, and abuse of a corpse.
