The community of Toledo is mourning the tragic death of 69-year-old James F. Stevenson, who lost his life following a single-vehicle crash in Sandusky County on Friday morning, May 29, 2026. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 9:04 a.m. along State Route 590 near milepost 6 in Jackson Township. Preliminary findings indicate that Stevenson was driving a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado northbound when, for reasons still under investigation, the vehicle veered off the west side of the roadway.
Authorities reported that after leaving the roadway, the pickup truck traveled through a nearby farm field before ultimately colliding with a row of trees.
