Authorities have confirmed that 25-year-old Devion Sneed has been formally charged in connection with the incident. According to the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, Sneed faces multiple felony charges, including first-degree murder, two counts of first-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon, stealing a firearm, and four counts of armed criminal action.
The victim has been identified as Lamonte Keys, whose death has left family members, friends, and the wider community mourning a life lost in a moment of violence.
According to investigators, the shooting occurred around 5:20 p.m. on Thursday at the park, located near Interstate 70 and North Hanley Road. The gathering, which was meant to celebrate a birthday, reportedly turned tragic following a dispute that escalated rapidly.
