The communities of Kentwood and Franklinton are mourning the tragic loss of 43-year-old Jerome Warren, who lost his life in a devastating two-vehicle crash early Thursday morning, May 28, 2026. The fatal collision occurred shortly after 7:30 a.m. on LA 1057 near Milburn Grace Road in Tangipahoa Parish, leaving family members, friends, and loved ones in deep sorrow.
According to Louisiana State Police Troop L, troopers responded to the crash scene shortly after receiving reports of the incident. Upon arrival, authorities began an immediate investigation to determine the sequence of events that led to the fatal collision.
Preliminary findings indicate that Jerome Warren was traveling eastbound in a 2007 Chevrolet Impala along LA 1057. For reasons that remain under investigation, the vehicle reportedly traveled off the right side of the roadway. In an apparent attempt to regain control, the vehicle overcorrected, crossing back over the roadway and into the westbound lane.
At that moment, the right side of Warren’s vehicle collided with a 2021 Western Star tractor-trailer traveling westbound. The force of the impact caused both vehicles to leave the roadway, eventually coming to rest within a nearby tree line.
Authorities confirmed that Jerome Warren was unrestrained at the time of the crash and sustained fatal injuries. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the tractor-trailer was properly restrained and did not suffer any injuries.
Officials stated that impairment is not suspected to have been a factor in the crash. However, as part of standard procedure, toxicology samples were collected and will be analyzed as the investigation continues.
