The community of Pickaway County is mourning the death of Marilyn Gregg, who was killed in a tragic four-vehicle crash on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at the intersection of US-23 and Circle Lane.
According to the Circleville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Gregg was driving a 2017 Hyundai Tucson northbound on US-23 and was positioned in the left-turn lane waiting to turn onto Circle Lane when the collision occurred. Investigators reported that her vehicle failed to yield and was struck by an oncoming 2018 Toyota Corolla. The force of the impact triggered a chain-reaction crash that also involved a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado, along with a fourth vehicle that was struck by debris from the collision.
Emergency responders arrived quickly at the scene and provided immediate assistance. Marilyn Gregg was transported to Berger Hospital as the only injured occupant from her vehicle. Due to the severity of her injuries, she was later transferred to Grant Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.
Authorities confirmed that the crash remains under active investigation. Officials are continuing to examine roadway conditions, right-of-way decisions, and other contributing factors that may have led to the collision. At this time, no additional details regarding possible charges or citations have been released.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol, along with assisting agencies including the Pickaway Township Fire Department, Circleville Fire Department, and the Ohio Department of Transportation, responded to secure the scene, manage traffic, and support the investigation process.
The sudden loss has left family members, friends, and residents across Pickaway County in deep mourning. Those who knew Marilyn Gregg are remembering her life with sadness, reflecting on the impact she had on those around her and the void her passing has left behind.
Local residents have also expressed concern over safety at busy intersections along US-23, where traffic volume and turning movements can increase the risk of serious collisions. Authorities continue to encourage drivers to exercise caution and remain alert at all times.
As the investigation continues, the community remains focused on supporting Gregg’s loved ones during this difficult time, offering condolences and prayers as they cope with an unexpected and devastating loss.
